Bitmap Graphics

There are two main devices for capturing graphic data. These are a digital camera and a scanner. Digital cameras and scanners both use Charged Coupled Devices (CCDs) to capture data. A charge-coupled device is a light-sensitive integrated circuit that stores and displays the data for an image in such a way that each pixe in the image is converted into an electical charge the intensity of which is related to a color in the color spectrum. Light is an analogue signal. Digital cameras and scanners require analog to digital conversion to convert light signals to digital signals
